I don’t agree with that interpretation of the GNU GPL,
and there have been strong points raised that this is

I think the problem here is not the licence but Debian’s
interpretation of it, trying to stay on the FSF/RMS posi-
tion.

As the FSF doesn’t even hold copyright in Lynx, it is
extremely unlikely that, even if their interpretation
of the GPL were correct, anything would happen if Lynx
were to be distributed as _dynamically_ linked binary
against OpenSSL.
