I'm currently in the process of rewriting the entire aptitude resolver, so it's likely that this bug will magically disappear, get worse, change to a new bug, or sprout wings, fly out of the computer, and destroy Manhattan. :-) When the next release of aptitude comes out, I might ask if you can reproduce it -- might be handy if you sent me a state bundle, too, so I could check that myself.
