Oh, I had totally missed I can just use "halt" in my .sh scripts.

I'll try it out, but from the description of #455836, this probably looks
like what I need.

As a sidenote, I guess I would have to adapt my scripts to check for
exit codes for every command I execute, or add || halt everywhere, else
I would have no opportunity to issue the halt commands?
