Package: nfs-kernel-server
Version: 1:1.2.0-1
Severity: normal

I had some trouble setting up nfs4 exports as umounting the export on the
client, editing /etc/exports on the server and re-running exportfs -rv
did *not* always result in the change of settings propagating to when I next
mount'ed the export on the client.

In particular I couldn't get the no_root_squash option to work until
I ran the /etc/init.d scripts to stop the nfs server and restarted it.
(I also ran /etc/init.d/nfs-common stop and /etc/init.d/nfs-common start
before restarting the nfs server).

Could the documentation (or the output of exportfs -av) please make it
clearer what is needed to do to ensure that new settings in /etc/exports
are propagated?

Regards,

Arthur.
