I think I may have found where the problem is. Running your debug command I got:
spooling to /tmp/tmp.mWN7h9p1GF (->F000226)... spooling library/page-0001-fax.ps... library/page-0001-fax.ps is format: ps gs: Interpreter revision (864) does not match gs_init.ps revision (865). During today's upgrade there was a bug reported in gs which broke various things. The maintainer said he would post an update for the package.
