I've been asked to look at a couple of RC bugs as part of the NM process, and
I've picked this one.
The FTBFS is fixed by adding two missing build-dependencies as in the attached
patch.
The original bug report notes that use of a4wide is deprecated now, but I went
for the least intrusive change to fix the FTBFS, especially since I'm no LaTeX
expert.
