Lenny does not have this issue. This is not a Debian-specific issue. In fact, I 
think it could be a GNOME-wide issue since Ubuntu also suffers from this. The 
snow-apple icon theme is selected when 
attempting to customize themes however the folders and icons remain with the 
same (in my opinion) ugly GNOME default icons.
