Package: libghc6-xmonad-dev Version: 0.8.1-4 Severity: normal This bug just happened to me. The only way to make sense of the error message is to google it and find this bug report.
Why on earth is this bug marked wontfix? The rationalle in the wontfix message explains why .hi and .o files can't be expected to be ABI compatible across ghc upgrades. But it does not explain why xmonad cannot delete the old object files when run with --recompile or when the user presses the reload key. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages libghc6-xmonad-dev depends on: ii ghc6 6.10.3-3 GHC - the Glasgow Haskell Compilat ii libc6 2.9-19 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libffi5 3.0.7-1 Foreign Function Interface library ii libghc6-mtl-dev 1.1.0.2-7 Haskell monad transformer library ii libghc6-x11-dev 1.4.5-4 Haskell X11 binding for GHC ii libgmp3c2 2:4.3.1+dfsg-1 Multiprecision arithmetic library ii libx11-6 2:1.2.1-1 X11 client-side library ii libx11-dev 2:1.2.1-1 X11 client-side library (developme ii libxext6 2:1.0.4-1 X11 miscellaneous extension librar ii libxinerama-dev 2:1.0.3-2 X11 Xinerama extension library (de ii libxinerama1 2:1.0.3-2 X11 Xinerama extension library Versions of packages libghc6-xmonad-dev recommends: ii libghc6-xmonad-contrib-dev 0.8.1-3+b2 Extensions to xmonad Versions of packages libghc6-xmonad-dev suggests: ii libghc6-xmonad-doc 0.8.1-4 A lightweight X11 window manager; -- no debconf information -- see shy jo
