Package: rdiff-backup
Version: 1.2.8-1
Severity: normal

rdiff-backup appends strings like 2009-07-04T03:32:41+02:00.missing
to files it stores in the destination. If the original filename is
already very long (e.h. 230 bytes), this will cause the backup not
to be storable, because today's filesystems can only store files up
to 255/256 bytes. rdiff-backup should probably catch ENAMETOOLONG
and take a countermeasure to ensure that it still saves the data and
is able to restore it properly.
