What's the status update on this bug? Why is evince trying to be so smart and does things differently if another process is already running. I find it annoying that evince cannot open the same file twice. I find it very annoying that evince returns to the shell even though the reason why I called it (open a window to let me view the PDF) is not complete (I have not yet closed the window).
If this is evince's understanding of usability, maybe it could grow an option that would make it more compatible with the way Unix programs have worked for decades and it was possible to wait for a process to exit to know that now the task was over too? -- .''`. martin f. krafft <madd...@d.o> Related projects: : :' : proud Debian developer http://debiansystem.info `. `'` http://people.debian.org/~madduck http://vcs-pkg.org `- Debian - when you have better things to do than fixing systems
