JackYF wrote a patch that completely replaces the Dynamic MMap code (it's discussed in #474947). That is likely to make this segfault unreproducible. It's not a fix to this bug; but it seems this bug only triggers after the Dynamic MMap bug has already broken apt. (I'm guessing that the Dynamic MMap bug is creating a structure with null pointers, and other code isn't ready for that.)
