I upgraded from 2.6.26 to 2.6.30-1-amd64 kernel (debian unstable) and I also found out my sound levels are ridiculously low when volume maxed to 100%.
However I searched for solution and I have found a workaround: In alsamixer, if you scroll to the right, there are four sliders "Via DXS" - in my case they were all on zero. Once I put them all to 100%, volume levels returned back to reasonable values (same as before the bug). So I guess these four DXS levels are probably incorrectly rememebered or incorrectly reset. Try raising these Via DXS sliders as a workaround till this is fixed properly. MP -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
