I agree that not having root in /etc/fstab isn't something we should support, but equally checkroot.sh calling fsck with invalid input is something that could and should be avoided. (I only made the suggestion, because it also looks like you go to a great deal of effort to parse fstab to find the root device so if there were another way it might turn out to be generally less fragile... ) > > How did you loose your root entry from /etc/fstab.
