Package: sed Version: 4.2.1-2 Severity: serious The Downgrade from Pre-Depends to Depends in this version is not correct, please revert it. Essential packages must work even when only unpacked (see Policy ยง 3.8), and the only way to ensure that libraries required by sed are present after unpacking it is to Pre-Depend on them.
This is aggravated by the fact that the libc6 preinst uses sed, which has the potential to leave the system in an un-upgradable state if sed is unpacked before libc6. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30.4-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages sed depends on: ii libc6 2.9-23 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libselinux1 2.0.82-1 SELinux shared libraries sed recommends no packages. sed suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
