This should be:

DEVICESCAN -a -o on -S on -s (S/../.././00|L/../../6/07) -m root -M test -M 
exec /usr/share/smartmontools/smartd-runner

If your line worked before than by accident. The old version should have
rejected it as malformed. 

O.k. to close the bug?
