looks pretty much like the one described in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/gutsy/+source/e2fsprogs/+bug/63175
in short: it happens, when bios clock is not set to utc and you're east
of greenwich.
solution seems to be to change the order of init scripts (set clock
_before_ doing fsck).
