Hi! You can try gxmms2 as a graphical interface. It works with XMMS2 0.6DrMattDestruction-3.
I can acknowledge the problem of the latest version of Esperanza depending on libxmmsclient4 and being uninstallable as of today. There is even a bug #531418 which I hit, too.
