Yeah, the hibernate stuff is known (fixed upstream). The sleep one is weird. I don't know why it'd work only if you listen to it :/ Are you sure it was configured correctly in the preferences? (I'm not on the box right now but maybe it changes depending on if you're on AC or battery).
