Package: pidgin Version: 2.6.1-1 Severity: important There is an upstream issue: http://developer.pidgin.im/ticket/10051 that causes pidgin 2.6.1 not to read the gnome proxy information correctly
This means pidgin will not work in a proxied environment, pretty much at all.
