Hi,
In the patch, if the user does not actually use the shell
command to fix the $dest_file.${NEW_SUFFIX}, isn't the file left around
as cruft? Given that, I'm applying a slightly modified patch that
makes sure the cruft file has a different suffix than the misleading
"ucf-new" -- I have called it destfile.merge-error
