Hmm, now actually I take that back. Here I have removed the frei0r plugins
and header file. There is no crash, I just get:

error loading plugin /usr/lib//lives/plugins/effects/realtime/weed/frei0r.so

so it is not just a dependency problem.

In fact I am not able to reproduce this crash at all (ubuntu 9.04, AMD64).

However several people have reported it:

https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2824427&group_id=64341&atid=507139

it appears to affect a seemingly random subset of users.

If anybody can help debugging this it would be greatly appreciated.

As mentioned, a workaround is to remove the file
/usr/lib//lives/plugins/effects/realtime/weed/frei0r.so

Regards,
Gabriel.
