Since the issue is treated with enough level of detail I think there is no
need to increase the BTS traffic.

Just for your information many (if not all) of the packages developed by
David Villa follow similar release policies. Therefore ows, atheist and some
others I hope to upload to Debian in a near future will have the very same
problem.

Almost every aspect of *his* release policy is in the border of what Debian
policy recommends.  There are three options here: 1) convince David of the
need for a different policy, 2) promote some changes in the Debian policy
(some *should* may be turned into *must*), 3) issue wishlist bugs against
all these packages.
