Package: pidgin-facebookchat Version: 1.60-1.1 Severity: important I had a group called "CdE" in my buddy list, with a couple of buddies from different networks. Maybe also some from Facebookchat before the plugin would support importing the lists from facebook. In Facebook, I had created a list called "CDE". The name similarity is not a coincidence, it's the same intrinsic grouping. At some point, the facebookchat plugin started *duplicating* buddies. Of some facebook friends I had several dozen "copies" in Pidgin, which caused this group to at some point hit 5000 and more buddies. My assumption is that something like the following happens: - Facebookchat loads the buddy list from Facebook - For each buddy, it tries to check if the buddy is already present, but it does this check in the wrong group - "CdE". - Since it didn't find the buddy there, it adds it, but with the group set to "CDE". There already was a buddy with that user name in this group.
This might be fixed in r640 upstream. It at least reads similar. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_DE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages pidgin-facebookchat depends on: ii libc6 2.9-25 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libjson-glib-1.0-0 0.6.2-3 GLib JSON manipulation library ii libpurple0 2.6.1-2 multi-protocol instant messaging l ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-15 compression library - runtime pidgin-facebookchat recommends no packages. pidgin-facebookchat suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
