Same problem here. Purging of both ttf-arphic-uming and ttf-wqy-zenhei
did the trick for me. But if I understand correctly, this is due to qt4
"which integrates core and client fonts in a rather inconsistent fashion"?

Shouldn't this bug be moved to qt4 then? The mechanism looks broken.
