Ah, my fault, I didn't copy and paste it properly! I've done it now though! I put in: run-parts --report --lsbsysinit --arg=testsmart --arg=-s --arg=SMART --arg=root --/etc/smartmontools/run.d I do now indeed, get an email to root!!
