I had the same problem after upgrade.

I have found that the problem emerged due to the name change of some 
keys. For instance, the key which had earlier the name "XF86WWW" got the 
name "XF86HomePage" after the upgrade.

And when xbindkeys see inappropriate name it leads to the behavior 
described as a complete keyboard break.

I find out the new key names using xev, fixed .xbindkeysrc and the 
problem was solved for me.
