Hi, > Subj: Waiting for development to settle down [...] > Look for it after sarge releases.
Sarge is released now, and development has "settled" as much as it can, i.e. I have not seen any signs of life from 'official' xpilot for over a year. On the "NG" side, the project has reached 100% compatibility with 'official' xpilot now (as far as I could follow this). I think there are no fundamental reasons anymore that would hinder a switch from xpilot to xpilot-ng. xpilot-ng can read and run the old block-based-syntax maps, the ng client can connect to the original servers and vice-versa (A block-based approximation is calculated from the polygon map and shown to the clients that can only understand block-based maps). This "being packaged" entry is >> 1000 days old now and Ben wants to stop maintaining the xpilot packages therefore I wonder: what is the current status and what are the current plans?
