I would like to propose this simple patch to solve this issue. I did
not find anything in the changelog on why the purge rule is so
complex, and believe the correct approach would be to remove
everything in /usr/share/mime/ on purge if this directory belong to
shared-mime-info. Why are these files in /usr/share/, and not in
/var/lib/, if they are generated update-mime-database?

Note that the patch is untested, and I do not really know why the
package behave the way it currently do.
