Hi, gdm can be run even without an X server (e.g. for remote login), so it is not correct to have it depend on xorg server components.
It should rather recommend them, but I see it already recommends xserver-xorg, which in turn depends on the mouse and keyboard drivers. Are there reasons not to install xserver-xorg but still want to have other pieces of the xserver? In that case we could add an explicit Recommends: on these two packages, but not Depends.
