I have an ATI Radeon HD3400 mobile series in my laptop, and I have strange short hangs with some operations in compiz. Affected operations : maximizing, unmaximizing, restoring a window from the taskbar, creating a window (either by launching a program or creating a new window from a running program). Minimizing is not affected. Some programs are more affected than others (xterm is almost not affected, but opening a new window to read a mail in icedove is a major pain) Everything works well using metacity (but of course compiz is much smoother, so I'd like to use it). The hangs are quite short, usually less than 2 seconds, but their impact on usability renders compiz useless with the fglrx driver.
