Hallo,

showing or not showing correct status is least my problem. I want to
manage my internet connection through ifupdown scripts because I
sometimes use static IPs and DNS quirks but want to use network
manager for managing my VPN connections for convenience. Since NM
thinks we are offline, it doesn't even attempt to create the VPN
connections. This is real crap.
Can't network manger just look for the status of interfaces defined in
/etc/network/interfaces? Why does it need to support all options. It
could just report the status.

Thanks!
