Package: pdsh Version: 2.10-3 Severity: minor Copied from ubuntu bug 409340 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pdsh/+bug/409340): -------------
Binary package hint: pdsh /usr/share/doc/pdsh/README.Debian suggests the default rcmd can be changed by creating /etc/genders/pdsh with a single line such as ssh This doesn't seem to work. Running strace on pdsh suggests that creating /etc/pdsh/rcmd_default with the single line ssh does seem to work I could see no reference to this in the man page either. I suggest a) documenting it and maybe b) setting the default to ssh (which is going to be far more useful on a typical modern day cluster) Tested this on the intrepid and jaunty packages - same problem seems to exist on both -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.30-1-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages pdsh depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.27 Debian configuration management sy ii genders 1.13-1+b1 cluster configuration management d ii libc6 2.9-27 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libgenders0 1.13-1+b1 C library for parsing and querying ii openssh-client [rsh-client] 1:5.1p1-7 secure shell client, an rlogin/rsh ii perl 5.10.1-5 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction ii ssh 1:5.1p1-7 secure shell client and server (me pdsh recommends no packages. pdsh suggests no packages. -- debconf-show failed -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
