After running upgrade-from-grub-legacy, my system is unbootable. I don't recall whether I saw such a checkbox, or if I did, whether I checked it. So I am replying to this bug rather than opening a new one on the chance that this is the same issue.
I tried reconfiguring grub-pc, reinstalling grub-pc, and downgrading to grub-legacy (as suggested in this bug), but none of those had any effect. My system is still unbootable, with "Error 15" showing on the bios boot screen. On my system, the CD is connected to the first IDE bus and my hard disks to the second. I have the following partitions: /dev/hdb1 - the root partition /dev/hdb2 - extended partitions /dev/hdb5 - swap /dev/hdb6 - /home Perhaps the MBR was written incorrectly by update-from-grub-legacy, then not written at all by the installation of grub-legacy in my case? Anyway, I'm desperately stuck, can anyone help me get my system to boot? Thanks, Yitz -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
