Are you really using the Debian version of Qtiplot? I cannot find any
liborigin nor zlib code in the Debian Qtiplot sources.
The file
/usr/share/doc/zlib1g-dev/examples/minigzip.c.gz
is in fact copied into the sources during compilation.

Regarding qwtplot3d you are right. The qwtplot3d version contained in Qtiplot
is from the multiple_curves branch which is very different from the current
Debian version and the upstream author did not want this branch to be
packaged since the feature list for the next release is not decided yet.

The same problem applies to Qwt in Qtiplot >0.9.7.9 which uses features in Qwt
which won't be available in qwt in near future. The Qwt code contains addons
that are not binary compatible with Qwt <=5.2 and the upcoming 5.3 version is
not fit for packaging yet. The Debian package for Qtiplot >=0.9.7.9 may
contain static version of Qwt as well.

Unless you have some idea on how to solve this, I will change your bug
severity to wishlist.

Regards
Gudjon
