I installed pcscd and it created a symlink /etc/rc2.d/S20pcscd. However
on my system hal is started as S24:

I have no memory of changing the runlevel for hal, so I assume it is the
default? Or was, when I installed my laptop.
Because hal is not started, pcscd has problems starting:

Could not initialise connection to hald.
Oct 6 19:41:16 mocca pcscd: hotplug_libhal.c:563:HPRegisterForHotplugEvents()
Normally this means the HAL daemon (hald) is not running or not ready.
Oct 6 19:41:16 mocca pcscd: pcscdaemon.c:531:main() SVCServiceRunLoop returned
And the daemon dies.
Moving pcscd from run-level 20 to 30 makes everything work.
pcscd should be installed at level 50 already. I will have a look.
