Hi,

When I begin a letter with
\documentclass{anglais}{lettre}

The date still show up in french. The log shows:

...
LETTRE INFO: Langage par defaut: anglais.
(coming from the "anglais") option
...
(/usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/misc/default.ins
...
LETTRE INFO: Langage modifie: francais.
)

the inclusion of default.ins modifies my class option!

I would recommend removing the \francais command from that file (the
lettre.cls already has a francais default option).
