Package: pure-ftpd Version: 1.0.22-3 Severity: important The latest upload of pure-ftpd to unstable corrects the symptom of bug #549945, but not its root cause, which is that the pure-ftpd package is completely ignoring the PAM mini-policy as documented in /usr/share/doc/libpam0g/Debian-PAM-MiniPolicy.gz. You should not be calling pam_unix *at all*, you should instead be including the system-provided common-* configurations.
Please pay close attention to package dependency requirements; since your package will still need to hard-code certain other modules (such as pam_ftp) in the config, it should be depending on libpam-modules which provides the modules in question. -- System Information: Debian Release: squeeze/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.26-1-686 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages pure-ftpd depends on: ii libc6 2.9-26 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libcap1 1:1.10-14 support for getting/setting POSIX. ii libpam0g 1.1.0-3 Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8k-5 SSL shared libraries pn pure-ftpd-common <none> (no description available) pure-ftpd recommends no packages. pure-ftpd suggests no packages. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
