Hi all, I can confirm this bug too, running Debian 5.0.3 on x86. The permissions of the wwsympa.fcgi binary are as follows when the package is initially installed: -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 576K 2008-10-19 22:37 wwsympa.fcgi
This results in an internal server error when browsing to http://example.com/wws. Using chown sympa.sympa and chmod u+s,g+s to set the permissions to those specified by Racke seems to fix the problem.
