That's not a decent rule. It wasn't used with pgrep.
The old one moved, because the new pgrep is a popular
command that Solaris and OpenBSD supply under the
same name.

Arrrgh!!! That's basically saying that people should install from
source when I need to use these tools. I may as well uninstall the
package now.

Just have the package conflict, and give it a higher priority
than the obscure stuff. People can just uninstall the obscure
stuff, which they probably aren't using anyway.
