Ah, yes, I think I'm at fault here. The code is more or less unmaintained by
upstream, who are (or were, at least) instead working on an openglad-e
project. The openglad package works fine on x86, the RC bug is only a
problem on x86_64. I think the best short-term course of action for fixing
that bug would be to build it only on x86, and as a 32-bit binary on x86_64,
until someone takes the time to find the actual problem that results in the
crash. I should have done this promptly, but it didn't immediately occur to
me that this was an acceptable workaround back when the bug was first filed,
and then I never got around to picking up where I left off and submitting
such a workaround. I think I would rather upload an x86-only version of the
package as described above than have it completely removed from Debian, but
only with the expectation that the code is otherwise bug free, because I
don't have time to replace upstream. If you think this is acceptable, I will
try to get it fixed when I have time (hopefully within the next few weeks.
