>I guess you are not using dovecot auth. (#551106), are you? No, at lest I never configured exim to use it. In fact, I only use exim4 listening on the loopback interface for fetchmail's sake and sending out mail to a smart host. I append the simple configuration below. >Could you try whether moving away the contents of /var/spool/exim4/db/ >(please do not delete, but keep a copy) fixes the issue? In the last months, only three times did exim4 crash. So I am not sure how to reliably check that anything changes. I can move /var/spool/exim4/db/ away and wait for one more moth before reporting. Would this make sense? >What do the corrsponding entries in /var/log/exim4/mainlog* look like? Apparently nothing interesting. Here are the entries nearest to the first and last crashes: 2009-10-04 21:49:19 1MuX55-0006hD-GN <= traveloguelupl...@bloomberg.com H=localhost (tucano.isti.cnr.it) [127.0.0.1] U=pot P=esmtp S=7328 id=005801ca456e$c2ea6220$48bf26...@com 2009-10-30 11:07:32 1N3oOK-0000lW-UN <= samve...@gator680.hostgator.com H=localhost (tucano.isti.cnr.it) [127.0.0.1] U=pot P=esmtp S=6606 id=e1n3onj-00045c...@gator680.hostgator.com ===File /etc/exim4/update-exim4.conf.conf=================== dc_eximconfig_configtype='smarthost' dc_other_hostnames='' dc_local_interfaces='127.0.0.1' dc_readhost='' dc_relay_domains='' dc_minimaldns='false' dc_relay_nets='' dc_smarthost='smtp.isti.cnr.it::587' CFILEMODE='644' dc_use_split_config='true' dc_hide_mailname='false' dc_mailname_in_oh='true' dc_localdelivery='mail_spool' ============================================================ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
