That problem has now been solved in another way -- by allowing
modem drivers to grab index numbers starting with 1, not with 0.
Thanks for the info. Although I think my friend has the latest
version of alsa-base (1.0.9b-2), which should have those lines in
modprobe.d, and it still didn't work for him.
I'll double-check and see if that's the case (and see if I can figure
anything out). If so, I'll open another bug, since it's now a
different issue.
