Package: dselect Version: 1.10.28 Severity: normal File: /usr/bin/dselect The user, forgetting that dselect is not apt-get or aptitude, mistakenly types # dselect remove some_small_package 'running dpkg --pending --remove ... [Maybe the ... represents some_small_package, maybe it just means "pausing". Not clear.] which then probably proceeds to usually remove much more than some_small_package, due to lack of checking of arguments.
P.S., the man page mentions USAGE When dselect is started interactively, it prompts the user with a menu of available actions: However, it never gets around to mention when dselect is started non-interactively. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
