Hi, The bug report describes an interaction between tm and gnus. This fault does not appear in the standard version of gnus shipped in xemacs21-support in sarge (in fact tm is not loaded by gnus at all).
I would recommend closing this bug because it was fixed a long time ago (the bug is nearly 5 years old, if you want me to find more evidence I can but I can assure you it no longer exists).
