This is the author of MP3 Diags and I'm trying to see how this issue can be fixed. First of all I should mention that it doesn't make much sense. There is an assertion failure that just shouldn't be triggered. If you use Qt 4.5.3, the only 2 things that come to mind are something unusual with the file system, or perhaps some memory corruption. Ideally I'd like to reproduce this on my computer, but that seems unlikely, as I suspect this is specific to your computer. Nevertheless, I'm looking into installing Debian myself to see if I get the crash. But I wonder to what extent can you provide some further assistance.
