Currently screen refuses to start for users with username longer than 20 characters. This limit is quite arbitrary, considering that LOGIN_NAME_MAX variable which imposes the system limit on the length of username is set to 256 in Debian (/usr/include/bits/local_lim.h). It would be great if this unnecessary restriction could be lifted.
