Package: gscan2pdf
Version: 0.9.29-1
Severity: normal
After reconfiguring libsnmp-base, things have started getting better... Only 3
error messages are produced when scanning with these frontends and, for 2 of
the frontends, scanning actually takes place once error messages have been
closed. Here is what I did:
sudo dpkg-reconfigure libsnmp-base
And the information I received:
Downloading RFCs and IANA documents and extracting MIB files.
This will take some minutes.
In case this process fails, it can always be repeated later by executing
cd /usr/share/mibs
make -f Makefile.mib
[ -d /usr/share/mibs/iana.orig ] || mkdir /usr/share/mibs/iana.orig
cat ianalist | while read file mibs; \
do \
if [ "$file" != "#" ]; \
then \
./mibfetch -d /usr/share/mibs/iana.orig -x
http://www.iana.org assignments $file $mibs; \
fi; \
done
[ -d /usr/share/mibs/ietf.orig ] || mkdir /usr/share/mibs/ietf.orig
cat rfclist | while read rfc mibs; \
do \
if [ "$rfc" != "#" ]; \
then \
./mibfetch -d /usr/share/mibs/ietf.orig
http://www.rfc-editor.org rfc $rfc $mibs; \
fi; \
done

This time, libsnmp-base configuration seem to be fine. However, there are still
issues with gscan2pdf frontends, when launching a scan, I receive the following
2 error messages:
Message inconnu : No log handling enabled - turning on stderr logging
Message inconnu : Cannot find module (NET-SNMP-VACM-MIB): At line 1 in (none)
and then the scan takes place flawlessly as usual (but I need to click on
'close' after each error message before the scan launches).
Obviously, this bug should be moved to libsnmp-base...
Hope this helps.
Olivier.
