Package: less
Version: 436-1
Severity: wishlist
File: /usr/bin/lesspipe

Currently lesspipe defines handlers for compression (e.g. .gz) and for
binary files (e.g. .pdf). However it does not correctly handle both
together (e.g. .pdf.gz).

It would be nice if lesspipe handled this by either recursing over
extensions until there are no known extensions to consume. If that's
too "clever", the immediate symptom (handling .pdf.gz files) could be
implemented by performing two passes -- one for compression
extensions, and one for all other extensions.
