Hmm, not perfect by now ... here on my computer it is still horribly
slow on cleaning up the database:
$ mu-index
mu-index: scanning /home/norbert/.maildir, storing in
/home/norbert/.mu/mu-sqlite.db-0.4
* counting msgs.......20665 messages found
* cleaning up database.........
and that already since more than 10min :-(

Thanks a lot.
As said, I have included your patch for now into the debian package
and build temp packs for me. All can be found in the public git
repository.
I will wait a bit maybe the maintainer takes a look and comments on it.
