I cannot reproduce the problem:

        Unpacking replacement dictd ...
        Setting up dictd (1.11.2+dfsg-1) ...
Not staring dictd - disabled in ... (warning).

(A filename after "disabled in" is missing due to a bug in dictd's init
script. I'm going to fix this issue in next release.)

/etc/init.d/dictd is run as the last action of the post installation
script. The init script should exit after printing the disabled message,
so I can't understand why it hung on your system. Could you please try
running `aptitude reinstall dictd' to see if it is still reproducible?

Regards,
robert
